Part Five :   

 Mira went to see the doctor …”François De Congé”,he has been her family’s doctor for 22 years.His hospital is not far from her house.So, she didn’t hesitate to consult him,at least he advises her.

      Good morning Réné-said Mira to the doctor’s secretary –Is the doctor here?She asked her

-Good morning mademoiselle Azzam…of course yes;just a  second.said Réné.

It was not a second for Mira…She felt that it was  a week.She was so afraid.She thought of everything:her aunt,her friends,Mohamed and his mother.What will  happen if I die?

She asked herself as she was sure that something dangerous might happen!Shall I tell Mohamed the  truth?

  -Mademoiselle…hey…Where are you?Réné interrupted her;

  -I ‘m here –said Mira –Sorry I didn’t hear you.She continued.

-The doctor is calling you,said Réné.                      

Mira  stood up heavily as she regretted her coming .She decided to put an end for that pain…It doesn’t mutter  if he tell me to stay here under his control……..or………an operation…..I must  stop this suffering…….not for me for those whom I’m interested in….

 Mira opened the door carefully,in a manner of stealing,she wanted to hide her anxiety and fear……..

  Dr “De Congé” looked at her deeply then he smiled for a while……..

  -What doctor?she asked him .Is there somerthing?she continued……..you are frightening me……..

-Nothing darling…..I was astonished….you didn’t change any more .You look still beautiful.Said Dr De Congé.

Mira couldn’t speak  any more,her sheeks became red .It was the first time that the doctor speak with her in such manner.

Mira is so beautiful .She is tall brunet girl with large black eyes and round face .She has got a charming smile .Her beauty is a mixture of arabic and European one .We rarely find such beauty in Europe.

-Tell me Mira……how do you do?Dr De Congé wanted to know.

-Fine !answered Mira without raising her face.She is very shy.

Dr De Congé smiled again and added….” I want to know if you feel tired!He said.

Mira found it difficult to speak,she kept silent for a moment then said :

-         Dr ………I ‘m suffering! I haven’t felt well since last month”….

-         Mira continued telling everything to the doctor who was listening attentively.His interest encouraged her to express herself.She spoke about her sickness,her life alone ,her friends even her daily activities.Dr De congé helped Mira to express herself well with his encouraging questions each time.

-         Dr De congé begun to be worried,he understood that Mira’s health was in danger.According to her symptoms, she is suffering from a serious disease.

-         Mira spent about two hours with the doctor who was a good listener and a wise adviser:he examined and advised her.

-         Well Mira….don’t worry darling –said Dr De Congé- everything will be ok.

-         Just do these analyses as possible as you can. I need to know this pain’s reason.continued giving some papers to Mira………then ,he smiled.

-         Mira felt relax when he visited the doctor.She believed that she will be ok.However, Dr De Congé was not satisfied with his behavior,he was sure that Mira”s life is in danger,he didn’t want to panic her.

-         Mira left the hospital late…she was so glad, the doctor had relieved her fear and assured tha she will be fine……..;she thought to call Mohamed.
